Pyners

The surname Pyner is quite rare, with less than 145 people of that name alive at any time up to 1901 in no more than 45 family groups. (I am including some people whose names were spelled Poyner, Piner or Poiner and who are clearly related to someone whose name was spelt Pyner at least once.)

Most of the Pyner families lived, and probably still live, in Essex and the London / Middlesex area, with smaller numbers in Kent, Monmouthshire - my family, and a small number in Yorkshire / Northumberland. See the table on the statistics page for the distribution by county.
